1) Issues I have its not clear about wiring. I don't want to burn up my ESC,FBL or Futaba reciver. 2) Also setting up Futaba Telemetry can be a big pain in the a## to get it right. I spent few weeks debugging issue with CC adapter, which is supported by both 14sg/18sz firmware. Iphone Appok, so I updated the firmware (3.0) on my new Brain 2 through my PC and all went well.

Had to download the wierd.NET thing. However, the Iphone app does not hook up to the Brain 2. It says something like 'cannot connect to legacy device, try settings'. I went to Settings on my Iphone and looked for the Brain. It comes up in the list of BlueTooth devices, but when I click it, it asks me for a PIN number that I don't have. Any light on this? Or do we have to wait until the Iphone App has a new version?

The little resistor addition to the ESC signal wire in the Manuals tab on the Brain GUI explains what to do. I like the fact that I can use the 4649T with or without telemetry, depending on which Brain unit I own, and use a much more robust servo cable to connect the receiver to the FBL unit instead of the sat cables. I am using a TM1000 on a heli with the Brain2. It's running a Edge HV ESC. Would I need to install a SPM4649T or will the TM1000 work? Is the 4649T used in place of the satellites?

Thanks AdamThe SPM4649T supports a bi-directional 'Spektrum' SRXL interface. And, as was stated, it is a dual diversity receiver. From what I understand, the SPM4649T will decode as many channels as the transmitter provides. If you have a DX9, then it is 9. If you have a DX18, it is 18. This finally puts Spektrum near on par with the Futaba and Jeti technologies that have advanced over the last several years. The SPM4649T was designed for quad racers.

If Spektrum wanted to remain relevant, they needed the SPM4649T to be better than the old satellite receivers - no quad racer is going to use a receiver with sats an a separate telemetry transmitter wih sensors. They may be surprised to find that heli guys want them too. What is interesting is that almost all of the ESC manufacturers have opened up to MSH and shared details about their protocols. And, in some cases, made changes in their protocols to make it easier for MSH. They have been waiting for this too. I think there may be more surprises from MSH to come.

I used a combination of devices (including a TM1000) to get the CLL data from the Edge back to my DX9. The Brain 2 with the 3.0 code and the SPM4649T replaced it all. The Brain 2 reads the Castle Link Live data stream from the Edge and sends that data back through the SPM4649T to the DX9 at the same time acting as a single wire receiver for the Brain.
