Forget an eq. What you need to use on this is a de-noise plug in.
You can monitor them while you are adjusting them so that you can only hear what you are removing - (so just that ugly crackle) Then flip it over and BINGO crackle gone and tone intact. Waves X-noise works very well at this, I bet other noise removal plug ins can do it too.
This works brilliantly on that transistor 'buzz' on accidentally overloaded gtr tracks as well as removing annoying 'paper tear' fizz on badly recorded heavy gtr sounds. Deluxe Pinto Pop 2147 Manual here.
